Cuba Varadero Beach
First we want to start by saying that Varadero is not as busy as some websites claim it to be. Yes it is
true that Varadero beach has over 100 hotels and it is the most crowded beach location in Cuba but it is nowhere near other busy and overcrowded beach
locations in the world.
The interesting thing about Varadero is that it is the only beach location in Cuba where you can find local population. The town in
Varadero has restaurants, local bars, amusement parks, restaurants, night clubs
and cabarets. This condition makes it ideal for those not wanting to spend all
the time stuck in the hotel. There are plenty of things to do and it is close
to locations like Havana, Matanzas and Trinidad City; so you can always
explore the nearby provinces.
Varadero is a 20 km long
peninsula located in the north coast of Cuba in the province of Matanzas and it has one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba. You probably know this already but I just wanted to
stress that you had made the right decision by choosing Varadero as your
holiday destination.
The second half of the
peninsula has a wealth of options in terms of hotels of really high standard of
accommodation. I am Cuban and I am sorry to say that you should be aiming at
the hotels on foreign administration as their services and food is better than
the government run hotels. The best foreign hotel chains established in
Varadero are Sol Melia, Super Clubs, Iberostar, Sandals, Blau and Barcelo
Hotels.
If you are travelling with
children one of the best options is the Melia Tryp Peninsula Hotel, a 4 star
plus with the best kid’s Club in Varadero. Another advantage of this hotel is
the fact that it can accommodate in its rooms 2 adults and 2 children and this
is very important especially if you are travelling on a tight budget.
Super Clubs Breezes Varadero is
an excellent choice for adults only hotels. It has a very good price and its
service and rooms are among the best in Varadero. If you are looking for the
top hotels for adults only then you have to go for either the sandals Royal
Hicacos or Paradisus Princesa del Mar, both 5 star hotels with exquisite food
and outstanding service.
Our favourite hotel in Varadero
has to be Paradisus Varadero. Beautifully decorated with tropical plants and Caribbean colours this hotel is in my opinion the best hotel in Varadero. It has 5 bars
and 4 a la carte restaurants and its buffet offers the most varied selection of
food that you can find in a buffet restaurant in Cuba
Sol
Palmeras, Iberostar Varadero, Iberostar Alameda, Melia Las Americas, Barcelo
Marina Palace are hotels that you should also consider. All the above mention hotels are available throughout the
whole year so do not be afraid of booking late. They all have an average of 200
to 300 rooms and they are not the cheapest in the market either.
